Around the corner

We wish things were just around the corner. But these days you have to have a car to get anywhere in town. Gone are the corner markets, five and dime stores and being able to even safely walk to a local grocer. Especially with all the traffic and construction. It's a nightmare. We think that there has to be a better way. Any great delivery services you have tried? We want to know about them..
