Lavender Farm!

Did you know that there is a lavender farm in Meridian? It is on the corner of Cherry Lane and McDermott Rd. The fields are gorgeous. They have an walking path with A-Z varieties of lavender. They are open Saturdays from June 22-July 27 from 9-2 and by appointment for special occasions, meetings, family reunions. Call them @888-5080 or just drop by on a Saturday morning, Lavender Acres 2000 N McDermott Rd. 

Mama's Favorite because it is educational and calming. The lavender gives off a sweet aroma and subtle buzz of the bees pollinating radiates calm. The bees are so happy around the lavender that people are insignificant. For local flair, I rate it a 5. For atmosphere and layout, I give it a 4, little ones need to be watched closely. And customer service is definitely a 5. You can take tours and their owners can teach you a lot about lavender and bees.

Roastere is amazing

Today we sat down to have a coffee and a chat with a potential MAA and when I went to get a drink of iced tea, I was short 15 cents. Rather than be dismissive and rude, the lady behind the counter simply changed my total to accommodate whatever change I had in my purse.. Not only was that amazing, but the atmosphere and iced tea was great too!

We are so excited that we couldn't hold it in.. today we just added another MAA ("Mama Approved" Ambassador). She is already helping us streamline our communication and has such amazing ideas on how we can reach a larger audience! Yay! Welcome aboard!!

Opening Day to Float The Boise River!!!

Well, yes, it is a bit chilly to actually float today, but it was announced that opening day is today.

Float season begins at Barber Park, where they will turn on their air pumps and all will celebrate. Such a popular past time from young to old here in Boise. Epley's will be renting rafts and inner tubes and the shuttle buses will be shuttling! Float season is here!

You can rent an inner tube for as little as $12 or you can get the whole family in a raft for $55. The shuttle between Barber Park and Ann Morison is only $3 and makes rafting easy! Be safe and don't forget sunscreen!

Taco's!

Tuesdays and tacos seem to be a tradition a lot of families share. So we want to find out, where is the best place to grab a taco? So far we really love the fish tacos at Sockeye Brewery. What is your fav? Let us know!

They like us, they really, really, like us!

Only one or so hours into our opening and already have 11 likes on our facebook page.. so cool! Now we hope to start getting some "mama approved" businesses willing to list with us. We know they will come.. like they say, "if you build it, they will come".

As we slowly add business listings and features to our favorites, we are reminded that busy hands are the key to happiness. The day has gone by so fast. Laundry and dishes can wait, but family cannot. Be sure to take a moment and reflect on the "why's" in your life. They will come fast and furious and what you have left is up to you...

We are hanging up our sign and looking forward to starting our business. What things do we need to do to get started? Who will we reach out to? What will our brand, logo, mission, vision, be? Around the corner

We wish things were just around the corner. But these days you have to have a car to get anywhere in town. Gone are the corner markets, five and dime stores and being able to even safely walk to a local grocer. Especially with all the traffic and construction. It's a nightmare. We think that there has to be a better way. Any great delivery services you have tried? We want to know about them..
